Das Bohren von Stahlbeton ist eine schwere Arbeit, die traditionell eine Belastung für die Bohrkronen darstellt. Sogar die vier Schneidkanten verschleißen schnell, was zu Ausfallzeiten für den Zubehörwechsel und die Materialrückgewinnung führt. Der Vollhartmetallkopf des EXPERT SDS max-8X verfügt über ein fortschrittliches 4-Kanten-Design, das aus einem einzigen Stück des härtesten Metalls besteht: Er verklemmt sich nicht und weist beim Aufprall keine weichen Stellen auf.
